Support Your Local Journalist

It’s no secret that I’m a C. Trent Rosecrans fan (literally, on Facebook). :-) Trent’s one of the most talented journalists out there, and definitely the hardest working man covering the Reds. You may recall that Trent and some partners started CNATI.com, an independent Cincinnati sports website. For what we do here, Trent’s access and original reporting is essential.

CNATI wants to sent Trent to Reds spring training in Arizona this year, and is asking for help to defray the costs of sending a reporter to Phoenix for six weeks. According to Trent, the average cost for a writer to cover spring training is $8,000. They’re going to try to do it for half.

Nobody at CNATI is getting rich (yet, anyway), but if you’re at all inclined to support independent journalism and “buy local,” I urge you do head over and contribute. They take PayPal, so it’s easy to do. I bought Trent a Subway footlong, and encourage you to o the same (Hat Tip to Mr. Redlegs)
