It’s no secret that I’m a C. Trent Rosecrans fan (literally, on Facebook).
Trent’s one of the most talented journalists out there, and definitely the hardest working man covering the Reds. You may recall that Trent and some partners started CNATI.com, an independent Cincinnati sports website. For what we do here, Trent’s access and original reporting is essential.
CNATI wants to sent Trent to Reds spring training in Arizona this year, and is asking for help to defray the costs of sending a reporter to Phoenix for six weeks. According to Trent, the average cost for a writer to cover spring training is $8,000. They’re going to try to do it for half.
Nobody at CNATI is getting rich (yet, anyway), but if you’re at all inclined to support independent journalism and “buy local,” I urge you do head over and contribute. They take PayPal, so it’s easy to do. I bought Trent a Subway footlong, and encourage you to o the same (Hat Tip to Mr. Redlegs)

Just chipped in.
Although I’m not a fan of C Trent on Facebook. Turns out I’m not a teenage girl, so I don’t have a facebook account.
That’s unkind.
Good luck to him but I am going to pay for my own trip to Spring Training
. Maybe he should do the same.
This is a great idea, and I applaud C. Trent and his dogged enthusiasm. He stands in stark contrast to John Fay, who just doesn’t seem to like his job very much.
If we’re going to take up a collection, why not send someone to represent RN at ST?
@Bill Lack: Agreed.
But seriously, C Trent is IMO one of the big three Reds journalists.
Grande, Day, and Rosecrans.
Any one related to the Civil War General, William S. Rosecrans, can’t be a bad guy.
@Chad Dotson: That is post of the year, and it’s Dec. 29. Nice timing.
Most of my Facebook friends are far from their teenage years.
@Chris: Sorry for being so pedestrian, but I was thinking Sheldon, Day, and Rosecrans.
FYI: Imposter comments will be deleted and the imposter banned.
