I'd deal Coco in a heartbeat, just not for Bradley...I just can't stand having a guy like that on my team. If he could stay healthy and not throw fits he can be a very useful player, but at this point in his career I think he needs to be in the AL.

i don't mind dealing cordero for the right parts though. i'm fully confident that masset can handle closing.

Speaking of trades, would any of you trade Coco Cordero for Milton Bradley, straight up?

No way I make this trade. Besides attitude, there's injury history. Also, the Reds need help more in other areas and if I deal CoCo's contract, I want to address that. Pitching might be an issue this year and I don't like trading a solid closer for who-knows-what-you-are-going-to get outfielder.

Speaking of trades, would any of you trade Coco Cordero for Milton Bradley, straight up?

They both have similar two-year $20+million contracts. Bradley's is actually a little less.

I know Bradley is a headache in some ways, but he's also got the upside for LF that we could use. The Cubs might be willing to do this for a proven closer. Plus they really want to get rid of Bradley.

Off Topic, but a decent Jay Bruce write up over at FanGraphs: http://www.fangraphs.com/fantasy/index.php/believe-in-jay-bruce/

If I had to make a prediction, it'd be Francisco is traded to an AL team in the off-season.

I agree with brublejr about the over emphasis on the '09 draft class. And I still feel that way about someone like Alonso being the highest rated yet having so little professional experience. But everyone has a different way of weighing the different prospect factors.

I would go Frazier #1, Wood #2, and Alonso #3.

The interesting thing about Francisco is where will he (or other 2009 infielders) play? I wouldn't be surprised to see the AAA team to start the year with Alonso (1B), Valaika, Cozart(SS), Francisco and Frazier.

Valaika at 2B?
Frazier at 3B?
Francisco in LF?

I usually agree fully with Doug, but in this case, it might be a little too early to rank some of the 09 draft that high...Maybe it is because you know what you have with the others, so you stay high on the new kids...

I don't think I would rank Wood below Brox at this point...

But as usual Doug has great stuff over there.

Bill,
I have been with you in the past, but I have seen enough of Francisco this year that showed me that when he wants to be, he can be selective at the plate. I think he will get there soon enough. If Francisco can walk just a little bit more, and I believe he will after going through the data and watching him then we are talking about a guy who is a .280/.340/.520 type of hitter. Perhaps that is where we differ on it and why I am higher on him than you.
