Down on the Farm

Triple – A

Louisville 6 – Columbus 3

Todd Frazier went 4-5 with a double and a run scored to raise his average to .323 in 8 games with an on base percentage of .400.   Wes Bankston was a perfect 4-4 at the plate with 3 singles, a double, and 2 rbis.  Kevin Barker and Chris Heisey were each 2-5.  Barker scored twice and drove in a run while Heisey scored and drove in a run.

Ben Jukich allowed 2 run on 6 hits and 2 walks over 6.2 innings pitched to pick up his 9th win of the season.  Enerio Del Rosario recorded his 4th save.  Del Rosario pitched 2.1 hitless innings, allowing 1 unearned run while striking out 1.

Double – A

The game between Carolina and Montgomery was postponed.

Class A Advanced

Sarasota 6 – Charlotte 2

Neftali Soto went 3-4 with 3 doubles while scoring a run and driving in 3 rbis.  Jason Louwsma and Kyle Day each homered in the win.  Louwsma also singled in a 2-3 game while Day added a double in a 2-4 game.

Curtis Partch went 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits and 2 walks while striking out 5.  The win improved Partch’s record to 2-2 on the season with Sarasota.

Single – A

Dayton 8 – Lansing 2

Josh Fellhauer had 3 singles in 5 at-bats and drove in a run.  Humberto Sosa and Miguel Rojas had 2 hits each, all singles, and combined to score 3 runs for the Dragons.

Ezequiel Infante allowed 2 runs on 5 hits and 2 walks over 5.2 innings pitched to get the victory.  Infante is now 2-1 with the Dragons.  He struck out 4.

Rookie Leagues

The GCL Reds did not play.

Missoula 3 – Billings 1

The Mustangs managed only 3 hits, and coincidentally, all 3 were doubles.  Sean Conner had 1 of those doubles and scored the lone Mustangs run.

Adian Kummet allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 2 innings of relief to pick up the loss.  The loss drops his record to 1-2 on the season.

  • Unless there’s an undisclosed injury, I’m perplexed at why Dorn is not getting any playing time. They have Lew Ford and an infielder playing the corner OF spots.
