Dare to dream.

(And yes, this is just a dream. Ain’t gonna happen.) (And tip of the cap to commenter KY Chip for the heads-up.)

I saw that story earlier today and got my hopes up that it had some substance behind it. Too bad.

On the one hand, it’s great the Reds are getting to take a look at some new players – Stubbs, Balentein, Janish etc. – but on the other hand I have absolutely zero confidence in Baker to make the right decision with that information.

It is obvious to every sentient being on the planet that WT does not deserve to start for the Reds, ahead of Chris Dickerson and probably not ahead of Drew Stubbs. But I have no faith that Baker will see it that way.

I think Dusty’s plank is circular. He is in no danger of being fired. He could go 0-162 and management would still think he is God’s gift to baseball.

All I want for Christmas is a new ball coach!

I’d be willing to enjoy Dusty’s (mis)management for one more season, so long as we were guaranteed to let Dusty’s contract expire while promoting Rick Sweet and staff to the helm.

wanderin, i understand your point but I would be afraid that Sweet would have nothng but jelly arms on the staff and dis-illusioned/mis-cast hitters to field a team with. If the Reds have to eat a $4M contract, I hope its Dusty instead of Taveras. “Dare to dream”.
