From this AM’s Enquirer:
Manuel got his first call-up to the big leagues Tuesday. Infielder Drew Sutton was optioned to Louisville to open a spot for Manuel.
Manuel, a right-hander who turns 26 Thursday, came to the Reds in the Dave Williams trade with the New York Mets. He was 3-3 with a 2.51 ERA at Louisville.
“He doesn’t pop your eyes out, but he gets people out,” Baker said. “That’s what it’s all about.”
I would think this had more to do with giving up 30 plus runs in two nights than anything else, but nevertheless…congrats to Robert Manuel.

There’s no question that’s what it is all about. With no off days and a depleted bullpen from two straight shellackings, they’re just trying to get to the all-star break.
Yeah, but you can’t just say that. Have to add some baseball wisdom to it.
I wish Sutton would have gotten more opportunity to play but the bullpen’s been used up recently and a fresh arm couldn’t hurt.
I’m sure the extra pitcher is needed but my first thought was Dusty panic’d and went crying to the GM because he really really wants to carry 15 pitchers and 3 catchers
in other news, others are starting to wonder if Cueto is hurt.

I think the 3 catcher thing was a Krivksy desire.
Unfortunately (fortunately) with Castillo hurt there’s no chance of seeing 3 catchers the rest of the year. (Unless they give Tatum a cup of cofee after the Sept call-up).
This is temporary and I hope Sutton gets called back up.
This is mostly based on that one at bat of his with a game on the line, but at least he didn’t go up there looking like a deer caught in the headlites. In contrast with Richar, whom I don’t want so see in a Reds uniform again this year.
