Triple – A

Louisville 7 – Columbus 5

Wes Bankston hit his 11th homerun of the season and went 2-5 with with 2 rbis.  Drew Stubbs and Danny Richar had 3 hits apiece. Richar had a double and 2 rbis while Stubbs scored a run.

Sam Lecure improved to 4-5 after allowing 5 runs on 7 hits and a walk in 5 innings pitched.  Josh Roenicke pitched a scoreless 9th to record his 11th save of the season.

Double – A

Carolina 4 – West Tennessee 3

Sean Henry went 4-4 and scored 2 runs while Chris Heisey hit a 2 run homer for his 13th long ball of the season.  Yonder Alonso went 1-3 with a double.  These 3 guys accounted for all 6 of the Mudcats hits.

Sean Watson picked up his first win of the season in relief by pitching 3 scoreless innings.  Watson allowed 1 hit and walked 2 while striking out 3.

Class A Advanced

Sarasota 11 – Lakeland 7

The Reds scored 9 runs in the first 2 innings and then held on late for the win.  Jake Kahaulelio, Jason Bour, and Mariekson Gregorius each had 3 hits in the game.  Neftali Soto homered and drove in 4 rbis.

Rafael Gonzalez walked 4 and allowed 5 hits but only allowed 3 runs in 6 innings to pick up his first win of the season with the Reds.  He is now 1-2.

Single – A

Dayton 13 – Lansing 0

Josh Ravin and Mark James combined to pitch a 3-hit shutout, allowing 2 walks and striking out 11.  Raving improved to 3-7 with the win and James picked up a “nail biter” first save.

Byron Wiley had 2 hits, with one of those being a grand slam.  Dave Sappelt had a triple and a homerun, driving in 3 rbis.  Carlos Mendez also went 2-4 with a double and drove in 2 runs.
