One of the commenters in the UniWatch commenters, (Silver Salmon), has some great ones from the Reds, and others, from 1953 spring training. I don’t recognize any of the guys besides Kluszewski, and (I think) Connie Mack.
Those shoes are just awesome.
How did we not destroy our feet wearing those things? I currently have black high top Chucks and light blue low tops. Back then I was probably wearing white high tops until I bought my first pair of Pumas (red, of course).
I have 2 daughters who love to wear Chucks. They both have about 12 pair each. They have all the latest colors and my youngest daughter loves to wear a different color on each foot to school.
I can’t believe how expensive they are in this day and age, compared to how cheap they were when I was a kid!!!
I remember all my converse had flat spots on the tips where I used them to stop my bicycle, LOL.
