According to Lance McAlister, the Reds took David Patton in the Rule 5 Draft. He’s a 12th rounder from the Rockies, who pitched in High A last year.
UPDATE (by Chad): …and the Reds promptly sold Patton to the Cubs. I guess that was in exchange for the Josh Hamilton Rule 5 transaction of a couple of years ago. If Patton ends up being as good as Hamilton, we were screwed!

Doesn’t look like much of a MLB prospect…AAA maybe at most.
The complete list, including the Nationals selection of the Reds Terrell Young, has been updated throughout the draft at

C Trent is saying Patton’s already been traded to the Cubs.
Yea the word is the Patton pick up was part of a pre-existing plan to sell him to the Cubs.
They did grab a shorstop(in the Triple A part) from the Dodgers, the name escapes me though.
To paraphrase Drew Carey, Jim Bowden needs to have a heart attack. Not because I want him to die. I just know heart attacks really hurt.
