As for the main question here: The Reds do have a bright future. However I need to see how our pitchers continue to develop first. Bruce is going to be an all star, Votto is an above average major leaguer. We don’t have *too* many top prospects ready to make the jump so we need to do something in the free agent or trade markets.

Jocketty has a better idea of this than any of us, but with the exception of a few high priced stars, there’s no real FA’s to make an offer to this year.

I’m also not sure what valuable trade assets we might have either… so I’m not sure how well off we are. I think last year at this time we might have been a little bit better off.

hmm now that I look again, I guess this is the Griffey thread… oh well, I feel for him, I grew up liking him. I know he might go back to the Mariners, though I think it depends on who they decide to make their GM.
