At the beginning I thought OK he will do a good job. Good choice.
Now I cannot think of one aspect of the game where I would grade him above a C-.

My impression of Dusty is that he operates on instinct, which means that he ignores a lot of data and goes with his gut. And he thinks he’s pretty much right all the time. That makes for an annoying and bullheaded manager who makes dumb mistakes and won’t change what he is doing for anyone.
I hope Jockety overrides him, or we are stuck with Patterson and Bako for another year. I love baseball, and am excited to tune in to the beginning of a game – but man, when I see Patterson leading off, I think Oh Man, this guy doesn’t know how to win, and worse, is rubbing our face in it. He knows the fan base doesn’t want CP, but he does it anyway.
To be fair short of playing Bruce in center, Corey is needed…obviously not batting leadoff though. I mean the only other centerfielders on the club would be Hairston and Dickerson. Dickerson nursing a sore ankle and Hairston hasn’t played for like a month and is probably still uncertain on the hammy. It really really really sucks but that’s what they got right now.
nice…street cred! theres a good chance I’ll be running out some more dustyisms, the dudes just asking for it.
BP going down should mean lots more playing time for the rooks, though i wouldnt be surprised if Aphillips starts there a lot (which is just dumb given he has a zero chance to be on this club next yr), either that or hairston & “cabdriver” cabrera. We’ll see how much time castillo, richar, and rosales get, should be interesting to see how busty plays it.
Major league debut against two top HR hitters with bases loaded…brilliant Dumpy…I totally understand your logic. Now Volquez won’t get a win but a loss. Dusty is the worst manager in Reds history. And I’m being kind

It’s a shame Jocketty can’t/won’t acquire any help.
If Baker is here in 09, it’ll be more of the same. Not the guy to deal with a young ball club.
