Reds Trivia 8/26/08

October 10, 1961: The Reds lose Gus Bell, Elio Chacon, Jay Hook, and Sherman Jones to the Mets, and Ken Johnson and Dick Gernert to Houston in the expansion draft.

Hook held a master’s degree in thermodynamics from Northwestern University, but it didn’t help his pitching. He finished his career with a 29-63 record and a 5.23 ERA.
