Game Thread: Brewers at Reds — 2008.08.06

I really hope Homer Bailey doesn’t ruin my evening by stinking it up this afternoon in the series finale against Milwaukee.

Discuss it here….

I wouldn’t count on him. I’m smelling a double digit loss today. We are facing known Reds-killer Jeff Suppan after all.

    Any word on the lineup?

    Courtesy of John Fay:
    Jolbert Cabrera ss
    Joey Votto 1b
    Jay Bruce rf
    Brandon Phillips 2b
    Adam Dunn lf
    Edwin Encarnacion 3b
    Croey Patterson cf
    David Ross c
    Homer Bailey p

He also said that Burton is frustrated becuase his throwing session yesterday wasn’t good. Apparently he can’t throw at game speed without discomfort.

  • Cabrera leading off?

Better than Patterson leading off. At least he gives us a professional AB.

I’m a sucker. I’m listening on XM. I always think of the cartoons, so I’m picturing myself now as a big Dum Dum sitting in a chair.

2 run homer by Bruce ties it at 3.

You think Jay Bruce is starting to feel like its a good thing Griffey left?

  • Bruce certainly looks more comfortable at the plate lately.

Homer Bailey’s in the running for the “I Can’t Believe This Guy Is Still In The Majors” award.

Ross catches the ball! Another double play by Bruce. Still 6-3 Brewers. Why have I spent my day listening to this?

Bruce looks pretty darned comfortable in the field, too. Wow!

Think MIL might put Gagne in to close this one out? Might be the Reds’ only chance.

That Jay Bruce kid…he’s pretty good, yea?

Dunn representing the tying run…but I seem to recall Shouse is murder on lefties.

Even Gagne doesn’t help today. What’s his problem with Edwin?

What’s the problem with the team? I’m thankful I’m spending a lot less time frustrating myself with this worthless team. Is there any question Bailey needs to go down to AAA and stay there for an entire year? He really didn’t fool anybody down there, gave up 4 ER his last outing at AAA. Good grief the management of this team is terrible! :!:

Ya know, that Bruce Almighty tee on this page’s banner ad doesn’t look too bad.

Brett Favre traded to the Jets. Maybe ESPN can actually talk about baseball again.

    Griff out of Cincy.
    Brett out of Green Bay.
How about Dusty out of Cincy. Shoot, get rid of all the management but Jocketty. Let that man do naything he wants, barring moving our young core group. (i.e. Bruce, Votto, Phillips, Volquez and Cueto….throw in Harang and Burton)

I just bought that Bruce shirt, not a bad shirt at all. Not the greatest of materials but I was happy to spend the $20. Arrived 2 days after I ordered it.
