Does anyone remember the Reds wearing white helmets? I don’t, but Uni Watch does:
(Chris here). I had to update this to include the other link in the Uniwatch piece - quite possibly the most ridiculous Reds photo ever (non-Rose-division). The hat is one thing. The way he’s wearing those pants is quite another.

interesting… I’ve never seen a picture of Reds players wearing white helmets. Did they do that for a full season?
Lesley’s pants are really pulled high. No wonder he’s pissed.

As I recall, the Reds wore the white helmets only during spring training for a year or two in the early ’80s.
