Just clicked the Sally Struthers link. You can find some crazy stuff on YouTube but you can’t find a clip of the Bruce Drennan show where a caller doesn’t get bleeped.
Ever notice how many pounds Sally Struthers put on once she started those “Feed the Starving Children” public service commercials?
Speaking of weight, I see that Dimitri Young is on the injury list due to diabetes complications. I hope that guy can find some help before the complications get extremely severe.
And I hope Edwin’s homers shut up Tracy Jones, who claims to have soured on Edwin over the last two months. That’s lovely since the last two months have been his best two of the season.

Sometimes I wonder if all talk show hosts for MLB teams are this bad or if it’s just the Reds.
Voltron isn’t having the best day but should we really be giving up on him? The guy is a warrior on the mound. Let’s put another one the board and put another W on the record.
Just checked out the weather, and yep, looks like a direct hit on downtown in about 15 minutes – though it looks like it’ll only LAST about 15 minutes or so from the size of the thing.
Oh well. A split with the red hot Mets is nothing to be down about. It is frustrating that the two losses were games that could or should have been won but from another perspective it is also encouraging that we were competitive in all four games. Keep up the intensity against the Padres and Rockies to climb over .500.
I turned off the radio and my wife asked me if the REDs won, I told her no, and that the REDs weren’t doing so good this year. Her reply “You say that every year” Dangit she’s right. I’m tired of all the losing. This has got to stop! FIRE DUSTY, FIRE somebody! Heads need to Roll!
Surprised nobody is talking about the EE play. He should have never even thrown to second. With the infield in that is too tough of a play. Phillips never even had a chance. The correct play was to throw to first and then walk Wright to load the bases. If he would have just made the fundamental play they would have gotten out of it with no runs. Plus, the play before that EE got in Bako’s way. I don’t think Bako had a prayer to get Reyes anyway, but Bako clearly called him off by EE went charging in there anyway. If Dunn walks I hope EE goes to first and Votto goes to LF (by the way, kudos to Votto for the play he made at first in the ninth. He is still a butcher at first base, but it was a clutch play.).

Those dang databases!!! Appreciate your efforts on keeping this superb blog site up and running. I know it is not easy at times.
Harry Houdini would have been pleased with the escape act. I hope Edinson doesn’t have to repeat it the rest of the afternoon.
I’m at the game. It’s hotter than hell and Volquez is struggling to throw strikes.
He may be back on track. He is already up to 33 pitches…he needs to get a quick inning or two.
I see it’s 91 degrees according to the NWS. Mercy!
I remember in the days of Riverfront Stadium talking to one of the Reds about how hot it was on the Astroturf.
Volquez escapes in the second, again.
I spoke too soon. We are at the very top in the shade and there is a nice breeze. Fifty pitches after 2 innings.
To make it through seven innings, Volquez will have to average 10 pitches an inning the rest of the way.
I think the crowd wanting the donkey to catch Reyes ball.
DUNN!!!
Is this guy on or what?
Dunner! Homer # 28.
He hit the snot out of that one.
Yikes. Votto is not going to impress the ladies with that at bat.
Nor is Bako.

If nothing else, Brandon Phillips is the most theatrical of all MLB second basemen, if not all infielders. Quite a toss to 1B.
I’ll 2nd Jim’s #3.
Thanks for your always dependable site. I was a bit distressed this morning without it!
You heard a collective breath being drawn in and let out after that throw by Phillips.
Volquez has now officially come back to earth.
And now I am officially terrified.
Brantley and Grande need to stop defending Anderson. He thought the ball was going foul and was being lazy. Enough said.
We knew Volquez was coming back to earth at some point. Now Harang has to come back and be himself.
It looked like Anderson was definitely lollygagging.
That was quite a sac fly.
That sounded like a home run.
EE!!!!
BASH!!!
The bat flip had to really tick off the Mets.
And I hope Edwin’s homers shut up Tracy Jones, who claims to have soured on Edwin over the last two months. That’s lovely since the last two months have been his best two of the season.

It’s 101 degrees and he’s thrown 106 pitches. Time to pull him.
Double play!
baseball players are some of the mosy sensitive people on the planet.
Jose Reyes is a douchebag
Did Brantley just belch on the air?
Phillips with a George Foster majestic-type HR!!!
Jeremy Affeldt. Sigh….
Need a double play here. Lincoln makes me nervous.
Lincoln calmed my nerves last night.
What’s CoCo Puff doing for your nerves right now?
I went to the potty
I made it back in time to see Votto catch a ground ball with his eyes closed.
Radar shows a storm is headed for Cincy.
fingers crossed for Dunn!
I wouldn’t mind another meaningless home run here.
If Dunn reaches I bet patterson pinch runs.
Walkoff, EE. Come on now….
You would be correct, Rob.
Okay, walkoff Joey instead….
Why doesn’t the great Corey Patterson steal a base?
Walk-off Patterson, perhaps?
Patterson should not have been pinch-running, especially with one out and a 2-1 count. Just idiotic, in my opinion.
If it rains I will melt…I’m made of sugar.
Great.
Crap. Jinxed ‘em.
I shall never again post with the game on the line.
well that was a mess

Hold on, Kurt, hope you don’t melt.
time for a double play…..
after that throw we are heading for the car
well crap!
Bako doing a David Ross dropped throw imitation.
sorry to say this Kurt, but I hope you miss a Reds game winning walk off today!
Reds raising the white flag – Here comes Majewski.
whooohoooo 3 outs, let’s score some runs!
I hope so too but I am getting ready to black out from the heat
Can we get Patterson to the plate about the time when the lightning starts flashing?
it’s not looking good
well that does it…………
Tomorrow is another day

Yes all the heads that have rolled in all these years…it has certainly helped the team win. Oh wait, no it hasn’t.
We are spending the night and going back tomorrow night.
Hope it is at least 10 degree cooler for all of you and that the Reds lay a whooping on the Padres.
That was a hot game to be at.
Could of used some of the rain during the game.
