Open Thread: All-Star Game edition

I don’t know if Redleg Nation’s favorite All-Star, Edinson Volquez, will play, but use this thread to discuss the game – or anything you want to talk about.

    Who is George Sherril?

  • Man, George Brett looks like he could still play.

Sherrill does have 28 saves, and the Orioles do need an All-Star.

So why wouldn’t Volquez play tonight?

And if not, can we move him up in the rotation?

Way to miss the sarcasm, Annapolis.

Good show from our only player in the game.

Ha-ha! Amusing, you two. I needed a laugh just now!

How many pitches did Volquez throw?

This is actually a pretty darn good game……

Correction: Make that one hell of a game (Volkie’s dinger aside, that is).

Man… lol what a fun game. Sucks that the NL had to lose… but go figure… Brewers 0-6 3k’s and an offline throw to home plate….

    lol

(in case you couldn’t tell, I like to rip on the Brewers a bit lol)

Dan Uggla, worst game in the history of baseball. First player to make three errors, strike out three times and ground into a double play in any major league game (regular season, postseason or all-star game).

That was indeed a pretty bad throw for a right fielder – Cory Hart didn’t really get much momentum into the throw and it slowly bounced into home, just late. Thanks, Final Vote ballot stuffers from Milwaukee!
