Down on the Farm

Louisville 8 – Lehigh Valley 2

Chris Dickerson went 3-5 with a double, homerun, run scored, and 3 rbis.  The homerun was Dickerson’s 6th of the season.  Paul Janish and Kevin Barker each went 2-4.  Janish had a double and drove in 2 runs while Barker had a double and scored a run.

Daryl Thompson is now 4-0 for the Bats.  Thompson gave up 1 run on 6 hits and 2 walks.  Thompson struck out 2 in 6 innings pitched and lowered his ERA to 2.94.

Huntsville 5 – Chattanooga 4

The Lookouts watched as Huntsville scored 2 in the 8th and 1 in the 9th to comeback and win.  Carlos Fisher gave up the 9th inning run on 3 hits while striking out 2. 

Sean Henry went 3-5 with a double while Tonys Gutierrez went 2-3 with an rbi.

Jupiter 5 – Sarasota 4

Todd Frazier went 2-4 with a run batted in while Jacob Kahaulelio scored 3 runs, going 1-3 with 2 walks.

Rafael Gonzalez had a nice relief outing. Gonzalez went 3.2 scoreless innings, allowing 3 hits while striking out 6.  His ERA is still 6.86 in 60.1 innings this season.

Dayton Dragons

The Dragons had the day off.   They are currently 8-11 in the second half, 5 games behind division leading South Bend and in 4th place.

Ogden 5 – Billings 4

Billings held a 4-2 lead heading to the 7th but could not hold on to the victory.  Justin Freeman gave up 2 runs on 2 hits and a walk in 2.2 innings pitched and Randall Linebaugh gave up a walk off homerun in the 9th without recording an out to pick up the loss.

Chris McMurray went 2-3 with a run scored while Tony Brown hit his 6th homerun of the season.

GCL Reds 7 – GCL Pirates 1

Mauricio Pimentel, a non-drafted free agent in 2006, went 2-3 with a double, run scored, and 3 rbis.  Efrain Contreras went 2-4 with 2 doubles, an rbi, and a run scored.

Shea Snowden picked up his 3rd win of the season, this one in relief.  Snowden went 5 innings, allowing 4 hits while striking out 5.  His ERA is now 0.90 in 20 innings this season.
