That is, unless you’ve got some psychic strategy to make, say, Adam Dunn bunt for the first couple of pitches before you let him hit a bomb. Dusty knows all.
These articles have some good stuff in them, but I think Eradi would win more converts if he dialed down the condescension a little. This one was especially bad with the “I’ll simplify everything so you pea-brained morons won’t be confused by my brilliant analysis” tone. I love the fact that sabermetrics has opened the doors on new ways of evaluating the game, but sometimes I think part of the backlash has just as much to do with the arrogance and superiorty-complex of its defenders.
