Down on the Farm

Louisville 4 – Toledo 2

Drew Anderson went 2-4 with a double and a homerun.  The homerun was a 2 run shot in the 3rd inning, Anderson’s 5th of the season.  Ryan Hanigan also homered, going 1-3 with a solo shot.  The homerun was Hanigan’s 3rd of the year.

Matt Maloney picked up the win and pitched a complete game.  Maloney allowed 2 runs on 3 hits while striking out 8.  Maloney is now 8-4 with a 4.32 ERA.

Chattanooga 2 – Jacksonville 1; final 15

This game was played through 14 scoreless innings until both team finally cracked through in the 15th inning.  Justin Turner hit his 3rd homerun of the season, a 2 run shot in the 15th inning in a 2 for 6 game.

The Lookouts used 5 pitchers who combined to allow 1 run on 11 hits, 8 walks, and 10 strikeouts.  Travis Wood gave up 4 hits in 5 innings pitched, walking 2 and striking out 3.

Sarasota 2 – Vero Beach 1

The two teams combined for just 3 runs and 5 hits.  Juan Francisco hit his 11th homerun of the game season, a solo homerun in the 3rd inning which put the Reds up 2-0.

Alexander Smit improved to 6-5 by going 6 innings, allowing 1 unearned run on 2 hits and 2 walks while striking out 6.  Smith lowered his ERA to 3.58.

Fort Wayne 4 – Dayton 1

Keltavious Jones went 3-4 with an rbi to lead the Dayton offensively.  The 3 hits raised Jones’ stats to  .274/.351/.390/.

Kyle Lotzkar started and got the loss.  Kyle gave up 3 runs on 3 hits and 5 walks while striking out 7.  The outing raised his ERA to 6.19 on the season.

Great Falls 6 – Billings 4

Tyle Stovall went 2-3 with a run scored.  Tyler is batting .464/.543/.571 this season in 28 at-bats.

Steven Otterness picked up the loss to fall to 1-1.  Steven gave up 4 runs on 2 hits and 2 walks in 2 innigns pitched.

GCL Reds 9 – GCL Orioles 7

Cody Puckett went 2-3 with 2 runs scored.  Donald Lutz had 2 rbis in a 1-4 game.

Blaine Howell picked up the win by pitching 2 scoreless innings in relief.  Howell allowed 3 hits while striking out 1.
