MVP of the Ohio Series, that is:
After finishing the game 1-for-3 with the home run and 3 RBI, Dunn was asked if he was to receive some sort of Ohio Cup trophy.
“I don’t know what it is. I have no idea. I had a good speech prepared and everything,” he joked.
Dunn was tabbed for the award for his play on defense as much as offense. He had a couple of great catches in left field Sunday, and at least one great throw. He caught Casey Blake at second after Blake singled to left field.
Plus, that was a great hit Dunn laid on Cleveland’s catcher, Kelly Shoppach, at the plate yesterday. I have no idea how Shoppach held onto that ball.
At any rate, it’s good to see Dunn getting some credit for his defense. He’s never going to be a great defensive player, but he’s definitely better this year than he has been in years past.

I love Dunn, and I’m one of us who wants him back. But it’s funny to imagine him winning NL MVP. That’s the first time I’ve thought about that and it made me laugh out loud.
MVP! MVP! MVP!
I still can’t believe Dunn went Macho Man on Shoppach with that flying elbow drop.
It’s so crazy that the Reds not only won their first road trip of the but came out the only NL Central team with a winning record against interleague this season.
