Jeff Keppinger, Drew Anderson, and Ryan Hanigan each went 2-4 in this one.  Keppinger and Hanigan each had a double while Anderson scored a run.

Matt Maloney fell to 6-4 on the year with the loss.  Matt allowed 3 runs on 5 hits and 3 walks in 5.1 innings pitched.  He struck out 5 and raised his ERA to 4.93 on the year.

Carolina 2 – Chattanooga 0

For the second consecutive game, the Lookouts are blanked on the scoreboard.  As you can imagine, the offense was a no-show, managing just 6 hits, all singles, and no one had a multi-hit game.

Travis Wood started and got the loss.  He gave up 2 runs on 4 hits in 5 innings of work.  Since joining Chattanooga, Wood has gone 1-3 with a 6.65 ERA in 5 starts.  He was 3-4 with a 2.70 ERA in Sarasota in 9 stars.

Fort Myers 5 - Sarasota 3

I think the MVP award Drew Stubbs captured in the All-Star game is going to get him going.  Stubbs went 2-4 with a double, run scored, and 2 rbis.  He is 9-15 in 4 games since the break with 3 doubles, 3 runs, and 4 rbis.  Carson Kainer also went 2-4, hitting a double and driving in a run.

Alexander Smit gave up 5 runs on 5 hits and 2 walks to pick up the loss.  Smit fell to 5-5 on the year.  He struck out 6 in 5 innings pitched.

Dayton 8 – Great Lakes 7; final 13

The Dragons get off on the right track following their All-Star break.  Brandon Waring went 3-4 with a homerun, 2 rbis, 2 runs scored, and 3 walks.  The homerun was a walkoff shot in the 13th inning.  Brandon Menchacha went 2-5 with a double and a triple, scored a run, and drove in 2.  Angel Cabrera went 3-6 with a double and 2 rbis.  Finally, Logan Parker went 2-7 with a run scored and 2 rbis.

Jeremy Horst had an impressive relief outing.  Horst struck out 6 and allowed 3 hits and no runs in 2.2 innings.  He has an even 39 strikeouts in 39 innings pitched.  Joseph Krebs improved to 6-2 out of the pen.  Krebs pitched 2 scoreless innings, walking 1 and striking out 1.  He lowered his ERA to 2.33 in 36.2 innings pitched.

Billings 6 – Missoula 3

Billings scored 2 runs in a wild first inning.  According to the recap, the Mustangs scored a run with no outs and the bases loaded.  Tony Brown then proceeded to hit into a wierd triple play that still scored a run.  Neftali Soto hit his 3rd homerun in 2 days, going 1-4 with 2 rbis and 2 runs scored.  Carlos Mendez and Michael Konstanty each went 2-4.

Will Hudgens picked up the win in relief.  Hudgens allowed 1 hit and walked 1 while striking out 1 in 3 innings pitched.
