July 23, 1991: Rob Dibble throws a ball at the legs of Doug Dascenzo during the 8th inning of an 8-5 loss to the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field, after Dascenzo lays down a successful suicide squeeze.
As a result of the latest eruption of Mt. Dibble, NL president bill White imposed a fine with no suspension after the Reds fireballing reliever agreed to seek counseling. Dibble went on to strike out 60 of the last 117 batters he faced in ‘91.

My friends and I were at that game in Chicago. The place went absolutely nuts and the Bleacher Bums littered the outfield with so much trash that the game had to be stopped for the grounds crew to come out and clean it.
Angry Cubs fans confronted us several times the rest of the night until we removed our Reds hats for fear of getting into a fight. We walked back to the ‘El’ station with our Reds gear stowed away.
It was crazy!
I was there too. The Cub fans reaction only illustrates what Marty says, ‘the Cub fans are the most obnoxious in baseball’.
