Louisville 5 – Indianapolis 3

The Bats offense managed only 5 hits, but they made the most of those.  Jolbert Cabrera went 2-3 with a double and 3 runs batted in.  Jay Bruce hit his 10th homerun of the season and went 2-4 with 2 runs scored and an rbi.  Drew Anderson had the other hit.  He also scored a run and drove in a run.

Matt Maloney improved to 5-2 on the season with the win.  Maloney went 6.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits and a walk while striking out 4.  Jon Adkins picked up his 8th save of the season by pitching a scoreless 9th inning.  Adkins now has a 1.09 ERA in 24.2 innings of relief.

Chattanooga 17 – Mississippi 11

The Lookouts added a field goal late to put Mississippi down by a touchdown.  Eric Eymann went 3-5 with 3 doubles, scored 3 runs, and had 8 RBIs!  The 8 rbis matched Eymann’s total for the season.  Cody Strait also had 3 hits in 5 at-bats.  He scored twice and had 3 rbis.  Numerous Lookouts had 2 hits in the game, including:  Shaun Cumberland, Chris Valaika, Tonys Gutierrez, Sean Henry, and Craig Tatum.  Cumberland had a double and a homerun, scored twice, and had 2 rbis.  Gutierrez and Henry both scored 3 times while Tatum drove in 2.

Despite the 28 runs scored and 31 total hits between the two teams, one Lookouts pitcher had a decent game.  Robert Manuel pitched 3 scoreless innings in relief, allowing just 1 hit while striking out 4.  Of course, out of the 9 total pitchers used in this game, he is the only one with an ERA below 4!

Brevard County 7 – Sarasota 4

Jose Castro and Todd Frazier each went 2-4 with a run scored for the Reds. One of Frazier’s two hits was a double.  Chris Heisey had 2 runs batted in along with a double in a 1-3 game.

Rafael Gonzalez dropped to 2-3 on the year by giving up 7 runs on 8 hits and a walk.  His ERA went up to 7.36 in 22 innings pitched.

Great Lakes 4 – Dayton 3

The Dragons had 7-hits in the game and Brandon Waring had 3 of them.  Waring went 3-4 with a solo homerun and 2 runs scored.  The homerun was Waring’s 9th of the season.  Justin Reed added a solo homerun as well, his 4th of the season.

Enerio Del Rosario picked up the loss and fell to 2-2 on the season.  Del Rosario allowed 3 runs on 5 hits and 2 walks while striking out 3 in 6.1 innings pitched.  Enerio still has an ERA of 1.41 in 38.1 innings pitched.
