Reds Trivia 4/18/08

September 6, 1933: After losing the first game of a double header, 7-3, the Reds blast the Brooklyn Dodgers, 18-8 on 21 hits at Redland Field. Cincinnati led, 8-0, after two innings, and added ten more in the sixth.

Infielder Jo-Jo Morrissey had 803 ABs for the Reds in 1932 and 1933, the Cincinnati career record for most ABs without a home run.

All “Reds trivia” posts come from Greg Rhodes and John Snyder’s fabulous book, “Redleg Journal” (see link for purchasing) and are used with Greg’s permission.

Thanks again to Greg Rhodes for permission to use his material.

Comment: Jo-Jo must have been the 1930’s version of Juan Castro…only Castro’s hung on longer and gets paid a lot more.
