Funny, the offical Reds site doesn’t have it on their front page. You would think they would be ecstatic about it.
I did find this nugget, however: Hairston started out his career as second baseman, but he has since diversified his resume. He can play shortstop, third base and all three outfield spots. With utility infielder Jeff Keppinger on the inside track to be the starting shortstop in place of the injured Alex Gonzalez, that could open another spot on the bench for a player like Hairston.
If he takes Castro’s spot, I’m OK with it, otherwise he needs to be stuck in L’ville or given a release. It sure sounds like the club has every intention on letting him come North.
If this is an example of the players Dusty can attract, where would we be without him? Also, has anyone heard anything from Walt Jocketty? I am amazed how quiet he is being. What’s he doing for us again? Maybe he can attract some players for us like Dusty can. I understand Scott Speizio might be available….
Greg…do you really believe that Bailey, Cueto, and Volquez are all going to make the team? On a team that the manager seems determined (at least verbally) to send the team’s best prospect to AAA to keep Corey Patterson or to play Norris Hopper?

But he signed with the Reds. That doesn’t let me sleep any easier.
YESS!! Any word on the terms? I would assume it’s too much.

At least it’s only for one year.
Harang
Arroyo
Belisle
Bailey
Cueto
Cordero
Weathers
Burton
Affeldt
Fogg
Volquez
Bray (Stanton if Bray’s on DL)
I doubt the team heads North with only 2 lefties on a 12-pitcher staff.
All I can say is WHY?

no, it’s what I would do.
i think one of Affeldt or Fogg will be in the rotation.
