MiLB’s top 50 prospects

From MiLB.

#1 player, 2 in top 10, and 4 in top 50.

Pretty impressive.

Anyone else just giddy over Mr. Jay Bruce?

I’m surprised Ellsbury is not even in the Top 10. With the way people in Boston worship him and are so reluctant to give him up in the Santana trade, it seems like he’s God-like.

Oh yeah – this is pretty exciting that we fans finally have prospects (especially pitching prospects) to look forward to. I actually have a sense of hope, unlike some previous years.

Ellsbury is a great prospect, but Boston created the hype by playing him over Coco Crisp in the WS. He is only regarded so highly because the BoSox built him up so. The same is true of Joba Chamberlain. Both terrific prospects, but because of the media hype in those markets around the Sox and Yanks, they are branded as the greatest prospects ever.

    That’s true…although I think Chamberlain could turn into a legit #1 starter.

  • That list is pretty bad. Bruce and Bailey are in the right spots, but the list for the most part has a ton of ‘what the hecks?!’ going on in it.
