Our buddy Doug over at Reds Minor Leagues is releasing his year-end Top 40 Prospects list. Yesterday, he revealed the bottom five, and today he moves up to #31.
I look forward to seeing the rest of the list. I hope Jay Bruce makes the cut.
With 31-40 revealed already, I would say the chances of Jay making it are slim to none.
I am glad that a lot of these pitching prospects have good, live arms. It seems like, in the past, the Reds had a propensity for finesse, soft-tossers. I’m not saying the latter is necessarily bad, but of course, you do need guys who can beat opponents on pure stuff.

My sources tell me that Jay may be in the top 20 somewhere, but they wouldn’t tell me how high up he would be.
