Homer Bailey vs Brandon Webb today, and Bill and I will be at GAB to see it. If Bailey pitches as advertised, could be a very intriguing game. If not, well….
Enjoy the game, and discuss it here.

This is the yearly hire a new Mgr. or trade all your talent, win some games, and get my hopes up for next season time of year.
I sure hope that this thing gets turned around!
GO REDS!
Speaking of Harang, he was slighted yet again when Webb was named to replace Fuentes on the All-Star team.
Is Hamilton going on the DL since it will be Thursday before his wrist can be examined by Krumchek? If so does Wise get called up again or maybe Votto?
Probably Wise, but that’s sure not very appealing. Luckily, with Keppinger, Freel, and Hopper in the fold, they’re in pretty good shape to weather a little while w/o Hamilton.
Or, you could say Maine was slighted yet again. There are guys ahead of Harang on my all-star worthy list. I also feel that Webb should be on the AS team ahead of Harang.

Go Homer!
Chad, you and Bill need to be some goodluck charms tonight.

We will try. Just finished an interview, and we are now settled into our seats, awaiting Homer.
There he is! Oh, no, it’s actually Gapper. Sorry.
Oh do I hate that Gapper….. I wish he would just go away.
Bailey goes 6 strong tonight. I am feeling it.
First inning: 17 pitches. Two K’s, though!
17 pitches per inning is just fine. Harang averages almost 16.
Webb is just so tough.
What happened to Hamilton? Why did EE pinch-hit?
Bailey seems to have found a groove that is good. He was awful at his last couple of outings.
2nd time through line up. Come on Reds lets get it going.
Mcbeth demoted, Stone DFA’d, Castro DL’d up are Dutchman from Louisville and Burton from the DL.
Come on Phillips…..1st and 2nd
Phillips down on strikes…Donkey hit the ball.
a Single by Dunn Scores Freel!!!
Hattieberg grounds to second, avoids a DP, Griffey scores and the Reds have the Lead!!
1-2-3 for Bailey as he now is in line for a Win.
4-1 Reds in the T6 Bailey out Stanton in….glup.
Good move by Mackanin, taking Homer out. I’m impressed. Do we now have an intelligent manager?
Could somebody tell Marty there’s a game going on?
Stanton in for 2nd inning of work
Stanton effective through 2 relif innings. Miracles do happen.
So Hamilton has a sprained left wrist, which is in a cast.
Good to see Stone get DFA’ed. He was just plain old ineffective.
Maybe Keppinger goes in the lead off spot for Hamilton!
Inning and a half to go for a second series win in a row!
It sure looked like the 1B umpire was eager to toss Freel. I couldn’t tell from the one replay if the ump had blown the call or not.
looked awfully close to me.
Just got another look. Major blown call!
Also ridiculous that Freel get tossed when he is standing ten feet or more away from the umpire.
Umps have to get over it. But what can you do. They dont like to be called when they are wrong:P. Javaman is in.
Shut’em down, Todd! Focus and take charge of your own fate!
Major crap!
When things don’t go exactly his way Coffey just buckles.
Not again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Coutlangus in now…..he should have started the inning.
Why would anyone keep Coffey over McBeth? Why would anyone let Coffey ever pitch later than the 6th inning?
He at least is decent this month.
Got to blame the defense a bit in that mess but these relievers have to understand the pressure comes with the job.
Defence was shabby but still…….grrr. Now or never Reds….we let Webb off the hook.
Griffey Phillips and Dunn. Lets go Reds.
Coffey needs an attitude. Running in from the bullpen is not an attitude. Running up the ladder with fastball after fastball is an attitude.
Let Webb off the hook and screwed Bailey out of a win.
Dunn come one Donkey.
Welch is proposing the Reds look at Cueto as a future closer. A interesting thought but I would love to see him as an intimidating starter instead.
Yep. At least Bailey will gain confidence this outing
a Hit here would be nice Scott.
Dunn just missed and he is ticked.
Love the aggressiveness of BP. It’s up to GrassHopper after the intentional BB to Hattie.
a IBB to SH booo.
GrassHopper!!!!
Way to deliver!!!
Hopper did it!!!!!!
Credit BP with manufacturing this run with his aggressiveness!
Hatterberg out trying to plant the catcher six rows deep.
And for one brief moment, Hatteberg thought he was as fast as BP. Poor Scotty, even when he was 26, he wasn’t at fast as BP.
Weathers to get Coutlangus a win!
Pin it down WeatherMan!!!
I was close on my 6 strong innings prediction. Still cant believe we blew the lead for Bailey though.
Lets go Weathers.
1 down. need a K here.
Good Reds win. Shame Javaman melted down in the 8th to cost Bailey a win. But the Reds win Back-to-Back series, Yay!
Great to see 2 K’s in closing out the win!
Tomorrow the unspeakable could happen! A four game winning streak!
Reds just 14 back with the Milwaukee loss. They are 9.5 back of the team that way be the eventual one to catch, the Cubbies!
Meltdown is an accurate way to characterize CappuccinoMan. The man needs to embrace some rage out there on the mound.
We have a good chance at sweeping the D-backs with Harang looking for win number10.
Hamilton left with a sprained wrist:(
