I am impressed by some of our AAAers. The Bats lost the series against the Bisons 3-1. But I saw some awesome pitching and an old favourite Ted Power the pitching coach at Louisville. Joey Votto is very big he needs lots of time to learn left field. He is going to be a good one. Jeff Keppinger might be a AAAA player and that would be a shame. He is capable pf playing around the diamond. Good fielder and swinging the bat well. He sould be getting regular at bats and he is at Luoisville. But When the season is declared dead he should get time in the reds field at 3rd I think. Find the taker for EE. The Indians have a couple of great arms in Buffalo.
Would much rather have Keppinger (.700 OPS in almost 200 major league at bats since 2005) than Castro (.424 OPS this year)….but Krivsky had to sign Castro through the end of the Bush administration with an option for more…
Justin, no offense, but that’s nuts. Trade Encarnacion to make room for Jeff Keppinger? Keppinger’s a nice free player to have around, but he’s 27 years old and has all of 184 career ABs.
Encarnacion is 24 and is in his third season in the majors. He’s the only legitimate RH power bat on the club.
An article in the DDN said Krivsky was at the Dayton game. Perhaps more promotions are imminent.
Well I am not saying trade EE just to make room for him. i figure that since he is one of the parts that will be shipped out for bullpen help and or rotation part that we do not have to get back a 3b.

If Krivsky trades another everyday player who is young and has promise for a #@$%^&*@ reliever again, he should be tarred and feathered and ridden out of town on a rail. ‘Cuz that worked out so well the last time – and you can take your choice of The Trade or the Cormier/Germano deal.
Chris’ point is that Keppinger is already 27 and hasn’t hit well enough to land a ML job. You certainly don’t replace EdE with him. If you want to replace Castro on the bench with him because Keppinger is younger and cheaper, fine. As far as I’m concerned, Castro could be replaced by an anatomically correct inflatable doll and it would be a net gain for the club.
I was at the Sarasota game…Wood wasn’t good, but he wasn’t as bad as the Sarasota defense. I think they were credited for 2 errors, but it should have been about 4. Big bad play of the day, bases loaded, 1 out, ball hit to short RF, rather than calling it and keeping the runner at 3B, Dorn let the 2B (DeJesus/Eymann, can’t remember which plays second) him try to catch it over the shoulder..he drops it, one run scores. Next guy hits a SF to RCF (should have been the last out) next guy gets a base hit, what should have been 0 runs is 3…horrible baseball played.
And Carson Kainer at Dayton and Josh Holden getting PT at Sarasota makes no sense either (though he was probably playing b/c the new players hadn’t arrived). I don’t understand their thinking with Kainer at all.
