Charlotte 11, Louisville 1

24 year-old Bobby Livingston pitched 4.2 innings, giving up 10 H, 7 ER and a BB while striking out 3. He has a 4.62 ERA with 45 Ks, 12 BB, and 77 H in 60.1 IP. For those wondering why Livingston didn’t stay with the ML club, 77 Hits in 60.1 IP is the answer. It’s not a fluke, either; last year at Tacoma, Livingston surrendered 165 Hits in 135 IP.

Huntsville 8, Chattanooga 4

24 year-old DOTF boy Calvin Medlock pitched 2 innings giving up a H, 2 BB and 2 ER. Medlock’s ERA jumped to 2.92. He has 48 Ks, 5 BB, and 30 H in 40 IP.

Sarasota 5, St. Lucie 2 in 10 innings

24 year-old B.J. Szymanski went 3 for 4 with a 2B, 3B, HR, and RBI. Szymanski, who was just a single away from the cycle, is now hitting .255/.315/.438.

My fault. I jinxed him by mentioning he had pitched 8 consecutive shutout innings yesterday. Hopefully, today’s draft will push some of these deserving players upwards.

Looking at the Sarasota boxscore, odd to see a pitcher (Roenicke) face 9 batters, allow 4 baserunners (2 hits, 2 walk) and get the other 5 batters out on K’s.
