Can anyone give me a good reason for bringing my wife and two kids to town this weekend, paying for a hotel, gas, and four tickets to each of two games?
truthfully, I can’t think of a reason, especially the team the Reds continue to dole out
With it being Memorial Day Weekend, I feel the urge to go to a baseball game. I’d prefer the MLB, but I’m heading to the minors – cheaper and who cares if they stink. Never had a bad (or should I say a frustrating) time when the ‘home’ team loses or stinks up the joint.
Unless you got the dough to blow, I wouldn’t spend that kind of money because you thing you didn’t mention was the cash you’ll spend on food.
Because the Reds have done well against the Pirates this year and in the recent past.
Because it’s Harang, Arroyo, and Saarloos scheduled to start.
Because Edwin’s back and is always entertaining, whether at the plate in a clutch situation or anytime on the field.
Because the east coast edition Reds (with axes to grind, sort of) will have left town by then.
Because…you never know.
I’m the wrong guy to ask. Looking down the barrel at the big 6-0 next year, I find I much prefer watching the game from the air-conditioned comfort of my den with an ice cold, crisp and exceedingly dry martini at hand.
There are no loud crowds, no mosquitoes, no overpriced bad food and I don’t have to stand in line to take a whiz, which is occurring more frequently these days [sigh].
If you go to the park it is the only way are going to catch the Redlegs Race. I mean c’mon when Mr. Red is rounding third and gapper takes him down so Rosie Red can pull off the victory nothing beats that right??

It’s a pretty park on the river?
Junior is hitting?
nah.. can’t do it.
Because the Reds are definitely better than they’ve been playing and are bound to turn things around at least a bit.
because you can pray that they will bring homer up and start him on saturday
Or that Narron will finally be fired!
You’re helping the economy.
Because even when poorly played, baseball is still fun.
Ummm……
OK. Because we are Reds fans, and can’t help ourselves.
Because you can boo the bullpen in person instead of yelling at the tv/mlb.tv?
You’ll have a chance to catch juniors 574 career home run
Because you get a chance to see a piece of The Trade pay off. Coffey down, Majik man up for today’s game.
GAPPER!!!!
Because I will be on the big screen Friday night! Duh!!
I think Shawn has the correct answer in comment 11 up there, but I’m still not sure why I’m inflicting this mess on my kids. They’re innocent.
And why are you going to be on the big screen, Jeff?

Maybe they will get to see Jerry Narron’s last game as a Reds manager?
It’s obvious Chad…
You’re going so you can buy yourself, your wife, and kids a Gary Majewski t-shirt!
No question, Chris. We’ll all be sporting our Majewk Man shirts on Sunday.
I think that’s a form of child abuse.
