Tyrell Godwin and Jay Garthwaite were both 2 for 4 with 2B. The 27 year old Godwin was recently demoted to AA Chattanooga from AAA Louiville.
Just promoted from A+ Sarasota where he put up a 2.20 ERA in 41 IP with 34 H, 7 BB, and 41 K, 24 year old Carlos Fisher pitches a gem in his AA debut. Fisher got the win tossing 6 IP giving up just 3 H and 2 BB while striking out 8. Bumatay, Medlock, and Guevara all pitched a scoreless inning in relief while striking out 2 batters each. Lookouts pitchers put up 14 K on the night.

Sarasota 7 – Jupiter 0
Jay Bruce, soon to be in Chattanooga, was 2 for 4 with a HR. He’s now at .336 AVG/.383 OBP/.629 SLG/1.012 OPS in what is normally a league for which pitchers dominate. Chris Kroski was 3 for 4 with a 2B and a HR. Mike Griffin added 3 singles in 5 AB as the leadoff hitter.
25 year old Richie Gardner continued both his comeback from shoulder surgury and his dominance of the A+ Florida State League last night. For the season he now has a 1.67 ERA in 43.6 IP with 29 H, 9 BB and 25 K. If your near Sarasota you may have missed your chance, he should be AA Chattanooga very soon. Last night he threw 7 IP allowing just 4 H and 1 BB while striking out 5. Medina and Roenicke both pitched a scoreless IP each striking out 3.

Peoria 10 – Dayton 9
Logan Parker singled 3 times in 5 ABs, and Gerardo Cabrera was 2 for 5.
22 year old Sean Watson had another great outing going until he gave up a 3 R homer in the 6th inning. For the season he has a 2.17 ERA in 37.3 IP allowing 34 H and just 3 BB while striking out an amazing 47 batter. Last night he went 5.3 IP giving up 6 H and 0 BB while striking out 5.
