West Coast Games

Last year, the Reds completely melted down in their August/September trip to L.A. and San Diego.  Here’s hoping for better results this week – another one-win road trip would be curtains for the 2007 season:

Reds vs. Dodgers – Friday through Sunday

Reds vs. Padres – Monday through Wednesday

Anyone planning to catch some of the games in person?  If so, take your camera and give us some first-hand reporting.  Just email the pics and anything cool you notice to me or Chad (addresses to the side there) and we’ll post them and give you credit.

I’ll be at the game Tuesday (at least) in San Diego, sporting my new Eric Davis throwback jersey down in section 118.

That goes for any game, by the way, not just the next few.

Where did you get the ED throwback?

  • eBay. From Singapore or some such – same thing (I\’m told) you can get near U.S. military bases in Korea. Cost $30. They carefully avoid trademark infringement (probably) by using the old road jersey design, which when you get just a grey shirt with some red stripes and the word \”Cincinnati\” across the chest.

I’ll be at the game on Saturday, keeping it real on the west coast. I’m debating whether to go tonight, but driving across L.A. on a Friday during rush hour is the absolute pits.

Last August (my first trip to Dodger Stadium), I walked from downtown L.A. to the ballpark. That was dumb.

HA! Nice Chris. Yeah, when I first moved out here, I had no idea you couldn’t walk places. I walked out the door one day with the intention of finding a bank on foot. Three hours later, I decided to give up.

We need at least 6 0f 9 on this road trip to get back in the race.
