25 year-old Phil Dumatrait (Red Sox #1 – 2000) continued his AAA dominance. Dumatrait pitched 6 innings giving up 4 H, 3 BB, and 1 UER. For the season he has a 0.38 ERA with 17 Ks, 9 BB, 12 H in 23.2 IP.
23 year-old Joey Votto (Reds #2 – 2002) went 1 for 2 with 2 R, a 2B, a BB, and an RBI. He is hitting just .172. But he is still extremely patient with 12 BB for a .320 OBA. Seems like a good sign for him to eventually come out of this slump, he is only 23.
25 year-old, center fielder Chris Dickerson (Reds #16 – 2003) went 1 for 3 with 2 R. Dickerson is hitting .300/.355/.343
20 year-old, right fielder, Jay Bruce (Reds #1 – 2005) went 2 for 4 with a BB, and 2 RBI. Bruce is hitting .343/.400/.597
21 year-old Johny Cueto (Reds non-drafted free agent) pitched his best game of the year, going 6 IP giving up 5 H, 3 BB and an ER, while striking out 4. He has a 3.60 ERA with 15 Ks, 10 BB, and 21 H in 20 IP.

21 year-old Rafael Gonzalez (Reds #4 – 2004) tossed 6.1 innings giving up 6 H, 1 BB, and 2 ER while recording 5 K. He has a 1.04 ERA with 13 K, 5 BB, 14 H in 17.1 IP.

how quickly do you think they’ll promote Bruce? He seems to be tearing it up.
Personally, I think it’ll be June before he’s in Chattanooga…others think sooner.
The organization has been talking about how they expect Bruce in AA quicker than they sent Bailey there last year. Bailey got there mid July, so Bill is probably right.
And he’s hoping Jay’s still in Sarasota when we’re there in June. javascript:SJB_appendSmiley(‘’)
Dumatrait is the first AAA pitcher that gets a shot, either for Milton or if Belisle goes back to the pen.
Oh…. now I see whats going on Bill! Hope he is there when you go.
