26 year-old Aaron Herr (Braves #1 – 2000) went 1 for 4 with his 2nd homer of the year. He is now hitting .364/.391/.818

Montgomery 9, Chattanooga 2 – 11 innings

24 year old 2nd baseman Drew Anderson (Reds #13 – 2004) went 1 for 5 with a 2B, R, SB, and an RBI.

23 year-old Cuban Camilo Vazquez (Reds #4 – 2002) pitched 6 innings, giving up 2 H, 4 BB, and an ER, while striking out 1. He now has a 0.75 ERA with 4 Ks, 9 BB, and 3 H in 12 IP.

Tampa 13, Sarasota 3

24 year-old center fielder B.J. Szymanski (Reds #2 – 2004) went 2 for 4 with a 2B and an RBI. Szymanski is now hitting .286/.400/.429

I usually think hitting streaks are pretty lame, but I will pass along that 20 year-old Jay Bruce (Reds #1 – 2005) extended his hitting streak to 8 games.

24 year-old Bo Lanier (Reds #10 – 2005) tossed 1 2/3rd scoreless, hitless innings, lowering his ERA to 4.50. Lanier, of course, is a Redleg Nation Spotlight Player.

Dayton 5, Fort Wayne 0

19 year-old third baseman Juan Francisco went 2 for 4 with a R. Francisco, who appears to be allergic to walks, is hitting .375/.375/.625. Last year in Rookie ball, Juan hit .289/.310/.408 with 6 BB in 224 PAs.

23 year-old DH-third baseman Jason Louwsma (Reds #29 – 2006) went 2 for 2 with a R, SF, and 2 RBI. Louwsma is hitting .556/.615/.778 in 12 PAs.
