Interesting tidbit in the Hal McCoy article linked above about a time when Stanton almost joined the Reds more than a decade ago. I didn’t remember that.
Why not name him and try him out? Stanton has proved he can close games and the Reds should know relatively quickly if Stanton has arm to come in day after day (assuming that the Reds will be in a position to bring in a closer day after day). That’s a nice assumption, I know. My fingers are crossed!
