JD is talking about organizing a serious fantasy baseball league for next season.
My interest in fantasy baseball is almost non-existent these days, mainly because I can’t keep interested in these free Yahoo leagues that people keep inviting me to participate in. Something like JD is proposing sounds kinda fun, though; it’s more like what my friends and I did back in law school. It was entertaining.

I really wish I could care about roto anymore. I’ve been in a league with the same guys since my sophomore year of college (1993 – Mike Piazza was the rookie steal of the year), but interest has been waning for the past few. I guess it was just more fun to watch SportsCenter with your buddies in the dorms or frat house, than with a disinterested (in SportsCenter) wife.
That’s exactly the way I have felt, Chris. I’ve been in the same league with roughly the same group of guys for nine years. The last two or three years (I suppose, as my work and family responsibilities have increased), I just haven’t been able to get into the fantasy league any more.
I always thought that a good auction-style, keeper league would be fun, but I just haven’t been able to find enough guys locally to make that happen.
Don’t know. We were keeper/auction format for 12 years, and finally went to draft format this year, to try to re-ignite interest. Didn’t work.
