I’m glad we used Valentin to pinch hit for the pitcher instead of Griffey. We really needed Griffey to pinch hit for the best clutch hitter on the team.
So the rationale for pinch hitting for BP was what? Junior capable of tying it up. Couldn’t BP just get a base hit (maybe even a HR) then leave the fate of the game up to Dunn?
Jerry Narron is a buffoon. I blogged it when they gave him an extension…he flat out cannot manage. If they are making him keep Weathers…don’t pitch him….sit the fat, out of shape, batting practice tosser in the bullpen til he rots. Weathers must be gone!!!!!

David Ross is now tied with Mike Piazza for the most homers by an NL catcher. Piazza has nearly twice as many at-bats as Ross.
This is a somewhat wacky lineup. Phillips batting 3rd.
And Phillips is doing pretty well against his former team. Now 7-10 this weekend.
Adam Dunn is going through an RBI phase, getting hits with runners in scoring position. These things even out.
It’s better to do well in the second half than the first anyway. Hopefully Dunn will keep it up.
