AAA

Louisville 0, Norfolk 6

It’s probably a bad night when Jose Lima shuts you down. The Bats got no offense all night off of Lima. One positive offensively was Matt Kata who went 2-4.

Tom Shearn got the start for the Bats and was roughed up. Shearn gave up 5 runs on 5 hits and 2 walks. He struck out 2 in only 3 innings pitched.

AA

Carolina 5, Chattanooga 0

Another Reds minor league team was shut out and could only scatter a few hits. The Lookouts scattered 7 base hits with no one having a multi-hit game. Javier Colina and Javon Moran had a double each for the Lookouts. For Colina, that is 19 doubles on the season.

Tyler Pelland fell to 4-2 on the year with the loss. Pelland went 6 innings, allowing 5 runs on 6 hits, struck out 4, but also walked 4. His ERA is now 3.70 on the season.

High A

Clearwater 3, Sarasota 11

The Reds returned from their 3-day vacation nicely. The Reds had 2 homeruns and took advantage of a 5-run 8th inning to blow this game wide open. Cody Stait hit his 9th homerun of the season and went 2-2 with a HR, double, 2 walks, 3 runs scored and 4 runs batted in. Jeremiah Piepkorn hit his 6th long ball of the season in a 2-4 night.

Sam Lecure picked up his 3rd win of the season by going 6 innings, scattering 7 hits and allowing 2 runs. Lecure struck out 2 and didn’t walk anyone.

Low A

The 3rd place Dragons did not play yesterday. The Dragons are currently 35-35 and 7.5 games behind Western Michigan.
