AAA
24 year-old Phil Dumatrait got smacked around pretty good in his AAA debut. Dumatrait the 1st round pick of the Red Sox in 2000, pitched 4.2 innings, giving up 12 H, 2 HR, 5 ER, and a BB. Dumatrait struck out 3.
AA
25 year-old Rick Asadoorian, who replaced Noochie Varner after he was ejected in the 3rd inning, went 3 for 3 with a 3B, R, and an RBI. For the season Asadoorian, the 1st round pick of the Red Sox in 1999, is hitting .277/.296/.372.
High A
21 year-old Brandon Roberts, who was just named to the FSL All*Star Team, went 3 for 4 with a solo Homerun. Roberts, who stole 32 bases in 39 attempst last year at Billings, is now hitting .291/.339/.336 with 22 SB in 26 attempts.
LOW A
Beloit 8, Dayton 7 in 10 innings
19 year-old Jay Bruce went 3 for 4 with 2 2B, BB, R, and 3 RBI. For the season, the 1st round pick of the 2005 draft he is now hitting .269/.328/.542.
22 year-old Robert Manuel, the eventual “bucket of balls” we got for Sean Casey, pitched 4 solid innings giving up just 1 H and 1 BB while striking out 3. Manuel, who now has 3 appearances for the Dragons, has a .93 ERA with 6 K, 1 BB in 9.1 innings. The DOTF would be impressed if this almost 23 year old were doing this at AA.

Draft should start any moment now. Royals have been rumored to not take what many consider to be the #1 talent in the draft, Andrew Miller, because of signability issues. I’ve even seen one website project him to drop all the way to Arizona at 11th. If this scenario plays out, would the Reds pass on him?
