Game time again, with the Reds going for a sweep in Houston. Those are sweet words, aren’t they? It’s amazing what a three-game winning streak with awakened bats will do for my mood.
Discuss the game here. Let’s root on Elizardo Ramirez. I’m hopeful he can continue his good work.
I love beating the Astronomicals. Let’s do it again today, and then go beat the Cardinals!
Okay, I’m getting ahead of myself…

i am so tired of morgan ensberg and that little league fence they have in right field.
ryan freel ties it up with an ensberg-esque “long” ball.
you’d think i’d learn my right and left one of these days. that’s left field that has the pop up box.
Oswalt scratched just a couple minutes before gametime…it delayed the start of the game by 10 minutes. Huh.
MLB baseball is all about taking advantage of situations, for whatever reason Oswalt isn’t pitching, go REDS
I really hate Enron Field. Griffey kills one and gets a flyout; Freel pops up and its a HR.
By the way, the Reds are doing pretty good today, despite not doing any “little things.” Just HRs and doubles.
Diving catch by Griffey, amounts to a game-tying sacrifice fly. One K later Elizardo gets out with hardly any damage.
damn shame no one’s been able to get on ahead of kearns, he’s crushing.
lord help us, Rick White is warming up in a one-run game. That’s what happens when Narron uses up his three top relievers in the previous two days, in games with 11 and 5 run leads. Isn’t Mercker available?
40-year-old Chris Hammond pitches for the third day in a row. Yikes.
Stormy better do well so White doesn’t come in.
Oh good. Stormy blows the lead.
hammond deserves massive respect right now. in his first IP he had an ERA of 189.00. Over the next 17.1 he has an ERA of 1.04. That’s as night and day as night and day gets.
been a while since EdE’s gone yard hasn’t it? good spot for it here.
3 righties due up, yan and germano rested in the pen, a home run ends it, and we bring in… kent mercker?
hope narron knows what he’s doing.
Looks like Coffey’s having some trouble with his new role.
I’d hate to see the win probability graph now. Tie game, and all the good pitchers used up.
Freel!!
As fed up of Freel as I was last week, he’s back in my (inconsistent) good graces.
Did I mention how much I love that short porch?
enron field, greatest of all the ballparks in the land. ryan freel continues his chase of Hank Aaron, 741 to go.
are we going to get a third blown save in the game? or is the third time a charm?
A very nice, nice, nice sweep.
If only the Cubs weren’t so pathetic.
4 in a row is a good way to go into st louis, and the reds seem to be getting back to playing like they know how to win.
it’d be really nice to see claussen put up a decent outing tomorrow, since right now he’s really the only consistantly shaky starter.
Sorry I missed this one. I had to work a fundraiser. Looks like it was a prizefight.
Onto St. Louis with the good old Voodoo!!
Ok what do I know, the homeruns carry us today. But all said I rather see someone else than Ryan Freel with the power surge because of this park. Here’s hoping good things happen in St. Louis would love to see 2 of 3 don’t want to get greedy.
First sweep of a division rival in their park in a very long time. Off the top of my head, I can’t remember the last time that happened.
During this series, the team made a few mistakes that they were lucky didn’t cost them the game. Last month the luck went the other way. Pray for more good luck.
Although defense is not usually a hallmark of this team, three plays in the outfield (Freel, Kearns and Griffey) ultimately preserved this 3 game sweep.
I missed most of the weekend games. On Friday, the players made a big deal about Griffey taking out the lineup card because he did it Thursday and they won. Did he continue to do this on Sat and Sun?
