AA
Huntsville 1, Chattanooga 7, final 6 (rain)
The Lookouts pounded out 4 doubles in 6 innings to take a win in this rain shortened contest. Joey Votto, Aaron Herr, and Noochie Varner each drove in 2 runs.
Phil Dumatrait got the start but a no decision in 4 innings of work. Phil went 4, allowing 1 run on 1 hit, while striking out 3.
High A
Sarasota 5, Brevard County 6, final 12
Sarasota lost its 6th straight by coming up short against the Manatees. Jevon Moran raised his average to .412 in 8 games by going 4-6 in the game. Paul Janish went 3-6 in his first game with Sarasota. Jay Garthwaite went 3-5 including his 7th homerun in the game.
Sam Lecure got the start and a no decision for the Reds. Lecure went 6 innings, allowing 4 runs (2 earned) on 5 hits and a walk while striking out 6.
Low A
Dayton 3, Southwest Michigan 5
The Dragons only managed 5 hits and had some bad starting pitching that put them in an early hole that they could not overcome. Jeffrey Stevens gave up 5 runs (4 earned) on 5 hits, 4 walks, while striking out 6.

So, Dumatrait has had 32 very good starts in AA Chattanooga. When does he reach AAA or the majors?
Does Joe Mays go directly into the AAA rotation and block folks like Kelly and Dumatrait that deserve a promotion. I know Kelly’s not a prospect, but Dumatrait has little left to prove in AA and could be making starts in Cincinnati by the end of the year if he keeps this up. I see a lot of potential bullpen help in AA, too.
I read over the weekend (perhaps here?) that Brian Buchanan was cut from the AAA roster.
