Tonight’s game

Sheesh, that was depressing. The Reds looked like they didn’t even show up.

A performance like that worries me, especially after a lackluster road trip.

Depressing indeed. I’m listening to Junior explain himself — and for the life of me I don’t know what he is saying.

He’s talking about how he eats; comes to the park; runs, ices the leg down; eats some more.

Where’s the offense? Dating back to the last game vs the Astros (the past nine games), the Reds have scored less than 3 runs 5 times, which accounts for all 5 of their losses during that 9-game span. In three of those 5 loses, the opposing team scored just 3 runs.

Claussen was not on last night, but the Reds have only scored 22 runs in his 7 starts, include just 1 run in his past two starts. Eric Milton’s run support was 21 runs in 3 games. The only Reds starter with worse run support than Claussen on a per-game basis is Elizardo Ramirez with only 7 runs in 3 starts.

the top of the order has been slumping so badly, we need griffey to step it up and play some ball.

If he can’t play everyday, fine, if he can’t go first to third on a single, fine. But his presense in the lineup could be the spark we need to get back on track.

Chambliss is going to have to come up with a plan on how we can handle these type of pitchers that are causing us problems. It is getting so that you would rather go up against the aces of the staff rather than these slop slingers.

I also propose an experiment. For Brandon “Ned Flanders” Claussen’s next start, send Valentin out as his battery mate.
