The offense and pitching were both ugly. Chris Denorfia did go 2 for 4 and is now hitting .339/.403/.446, and Andy Abad went 2 for 4 with a double. Abad is now hitting .333/.364/.667.

Fairfield High School graduate Steve Kelly pitched 6 innings giving up 1 ER on 5 hits and 3 walks. Kelly struck out 7. The 27 year-old has a 2.82 ERA this year with 19 Ks in 22 IP.
HIGH A
“DOTF” favorite Adam Rosales was back in the lineup as the DH and went 1 for 4. 23 year-old, Rosales is only batting .234 but as with most good hitters, even during a slump he still has a respectable .357 OBA. 23 year-old Cody Strait went 2 for 5 with 2 2B, 2 RBI, and two R. He is now hitting .274/ .348/.565.
LOW A
Shortstop Eric Eymann went 2 for 4 with a 2B, 2 RBI, and a R. On the season Eric is hitting .298/.375/.456.
Michael Griffin, who in his 4-year career at Baylor University appeared to be allergic to walks, went 2 for 5 with 2 R, and 2 RBI. This year he is hitting .301/.316/.507. That’s one walk in 74 plate appearances. Michael Michael Michael for the love of Pete LEARN THE STRIKEZONE!!!

Eymann has played himself into the lineup. He’s done much more, thus far, than I expected of him going into the season.
It’s also interesting that he’s pushed Paul Janish into, at least, sharing the SS position.
Ihave a fealing rosales is going to have agreat night to night
Why did Josh Hall get bumped out of the AAA rotation? I would think Hall, Gosling, Germano, (and Ramirez when he’s in the minors) would all be locks in the rotation, especially given that none of those guys have done anything number-wise to deserve a demotion.
According to the Louisville newspaper, Josh Hall was demoted to AA on Sunday.
Hall was the odd man out when Darrell May was added to the Louisville roster. He was just added back on yesterday I believe after Ramirez was recalled to replace Milton.

Cody Strait had a huge week last week. He hit around .300 at Dayton after May of last year and is picking up where he left off. Leads the league in steals and has a gun in right field. He’s a 5-tool player who doesn’t seem to get much attention. I’m going to keep my eye on him.
During that short time Hall was with the Reds, I thought he’d be on the roster to stay. I don’t know what happened but he sure fell off the map.
Didn’t he have arm/shoulder trouble? Or am I just confusing him with one of the rest of the army of Reds minor league pitchers that have had arm/shoulder problems?
Yes, he had an arm injury (don’t know if it was elbow or shoulder) that caused him to miss a season.
