Syracuse 3, Louisville 4 (final 11)

Jessee Gutierrez went 1-4 in the game, but made the most of the one hit which was a 2 run homer in the 6th which allowed the Bats to take a 3-2 lead. Gutierrez is now batting .268/.318/.512 on the brief season.

Darrell May went 5.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits, 2 walks, and struck out 2 in his first start of the season. Brian Shackelford picked up the win by pitching a scoreless 11th.

AA

Chattanooga 10, Mobile 8 (final 10)

The Lookouts trailed big early, but rallied behind 2 runs in the 8th, 9th, and 10th innings for a come from behind win over the Bay Bears. 2b Javier Colina went 4-5 in the game including a run scored, a double, and 2 runs batted in. The double was Colina’s 5th on the season. 1B Aaron Herr’s 2 run homer in the 9th tied the game at 8-8, sending the game to extras where the Lookouts came out victorious. Herr now has 3 homeruns and 12 runs batted in.
Carlos Guevara pitched 2.1 innings of solid relief for the Lookouts, allowing only 1 hit while striking out 5 to lower his ERA to 1.93. Also impressive is Guevara’s 14 Ks compared to 1 walk in 9.1 innings pitched this season.

High A

Sarasota 1, Clearwater 6

Not much to talk about offensively considering the Reds only mustered 3 hits. One of those hits however was a solo homerun off the bat of RF Cody Strait in the 5th, accounting for the lone Reds run.

Low A

Dayton 8, Quad Cities 0

Bobby Mosby went 2-5 including a double, an rbi, and 2 runs scored in the victory for the Dragons.
Carlos Fisher pitched 6 innings of shutout, 1 hit baseball for the Dragons. Fisher also struck out 4 while walking 1 in the game.
