Spring Training Report

In yesterday’s action, the Reds defeated the Red Sox by the score of 9-7. The Reds belted 4 homeruns, including Edwin Encarnacion’s 6th of the spring and Scott Hatteberg’s 2nd en route to victory. Felipe Lopez also went 2-4 in the game with 2 runs batted in. Abad and Buchanan eached added solo homeruns to the Reds tally.

Is there now any logical reason as to how Encarnacion could not start the season at 3b barring an injury?

On the pitching side, Aaron Harang got in two innings of scoreless work. Mike Gosling was roughed up in the 3rd, pitching only .1 innings, giving up 4 hits, 4 runs, and 3 walks. Burns, Robbins, Shackelford, and Belisle each pitched scoreless innings. However Todd Coffey and Jason Standridge each gave up 3 hits in their innings of work, Coffey allowing 2 runs, and Standridge surrendering a single run.
