Today’s game at Milwaukee

The Reds try to win their fifth in a row, and sweep their second straight series against the two teams directly ahead of the Reds in the standings.

I can’t believe I just typed that.

Brandon Claussen is on the mound, trying to win his personal fourth straight.

Get us some pitching, O’Brien! This could be a very good team!!!

Actually, trying to win their sixth in a row since the Chicago series was a three game sweep.

With a least one real stud starter, this team could compete. With two studs, we would have some extremely competitive divisional baseball between the Reds and Cards reminiscence of the Reds – Dodgers series of the 70’s.

We don’t necessarily need studs IMO. Just 2 guys who could consistently keep their eras in the low to mid 3.00 all season. Of course, that may take a stud pitcher in Cincinnati.

Instead, we sign guys with career 4.50 eras.
