    Wow! Sean Casey is batting fifth!

    And Vin Scully is making fun of all the double plays Casey has hit into.

    Double for Encarnacion. Hope we see lots of those over the next few years.

    Terrible baserunning so far. Jeez.

    Scully also pointed out something I hadn’t heard: Yesterday, Narron posted the lineups for all four games, so guys could know when they’d be playing.

    Finally, Milton is working VERY SLOWLY. Had he always been this deliberate?

    Even with the double plays, Casey is more productive than what the Dodgers are getting out of the 1B position most nights.

  • Unless you follow Michael’s definition of production, thats just not true.

    Total numbers for players playing 1b for the Dodgers:
    .272/.346/.515 (.861) 20 HRs 66 RBI and 51 runs
    Total salaries (excluding Kent who has played 7 games there) approx. 2million.

    Casey’s numbers
    .303/.358/.391 (.749) 4 HRs 41 RBI and 47 runs
    Salary = 7.8 million

    Odalis Perez is in the 1st year of a 3-year deal ($24 million) and the Dodgers are looking to move him. I wonder what they want and if the Reds have any interest? If salary is an issue, I would definitely be pursuing the Casey to NYMets rumors then turnaround and trade for Perez.
