John Sickels has a neat “propspect retro” on Rob Dibble today. He looks at Dibble’s development through the minors, to see what lessons you can draw from Rob’s interesting minor league path. Good stuff.
Very interesting piece. I always liked Dibble. I remember wishing he’d have pitched more in the closer spot instead of Randy Myers. Myers gave me ulcers.
I suppose you don’t mess with success but I always wondered why no one changed his delivery to a somewhat more over the top approach. That 3/4 delivery put alot of stress on that shoulder and eventually ended his career. I wish Dibs had have been around a little longer.
