Wily Mo Pena continues a hitting binge with the Louisville Bats while rehabbing a left quadriceps injury. He went 2-for-5 with a pair of RBIs on Friday night while playing right field, and 1-for-4 in the designated hitter slot Saturday afternoon. He was taken out for a pinch-runner Friday night, prompting rumors of a possible setback, but Reds head trainer Mark Mann dismissed the reports, stressing that Pena was fine.
That’s nice to hear. The AP’s line item wasn’t confirmed anywhere else, and since he played the next day it couldn’t have been anything more than rumor-mongering. Thanks for the update.
