Notes

From this Am’s Cincinnati Enquirer:

- Pena’s finally started to hit. He was 4-4 last night and 10 for his last 17 over the last 6 games.

- Ortiz left last night’s game with a groin injury. The trainer said “he had good strength, good range of motion” when Doc Hollywood examined him. Said he’ll be re-evaluated today. Said he could be shut down for at least a couple of days, which menas his first start would be April 7th (15 days from now) or longer, since they don’t need a 5th starter until mid-April. (3 off days in first 11.)

- Luke Hudson was given the all clear to resume throwing. According to Mark Mann (trainer), his “strength and range of motion were good.” Hudson will play catch from 60 feet today. The next step is TBD.

- Junior was a scratch last night from playing CF because of wet conditions. He’ll play 7 innings of CF tonight, DH tomorrow, and play CF again on Saturday. He’ll be off on Sunday.
